Stars

GK Per - Variable Star, Nova (1901) : Outburst Mar 2010 (Perseus) GK Per is star (NA + XP) which had a nova eruption in 1901, and undergoes occasional minor outbursts since then, for example the outburst in Sept 2008. A new outburst in Mar 2010 is noted to have occurred between observations at 2010-03-01 01:00h UT and 2010-03-09 20:00h UT

Pease I - Planetary Nebula in M15 (Pegasus)
Pease I - a planetary nebula in the globular cluster M15 - is the
small 'red' object whose position is indicated by the white cross-hairs
This false colour image uses Ha filter frame for red,
and V filter frame for blue and green.
The Pl. Neb. is highlighted due to its high excess of light at Ha wavelengths,
and appears 'red' compared to normal stars which appear whitish.

MACSJ0717 - Massive Galaxy Cluster (Gemimi)
MACSJ0717.5+3745 (MACSJ0717 for short) is a 5.4 billion light years from Earth
and is one of the most complex galaxy clusters ever seen
http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2009/macs

A well publicised composite Chandra X-ray & HST Optical Image of MACSJ0717
shows the location of hot gas produced by multiple collisions from four separate galaxy clusters

The CCD Image below (total exposure 14 min) taken through 12" LX200 scope shows the
location of the massive galaxy cluster MACSJ0717 with at least
10 ?members of the galaxy cluster visible
(with area of Chandra/HST image marked by white square)
