Session Aims & Highlights (2022-12-29)

Main aims

1. Targets.  Acquire images of a selection of variable stars, nearby stars, comets & deep sky targets as allowed by sky conditions.
2. AstroMain.  Check new AstroMain version (3.60.1) for any issues associated with small fixes and additions

Highlights

• AstroMain.  No significant issues with new AstroMain 3.60.1 version.
• Dome Slews.  No dome slew was affected by a holdup. (0/7 slews affected, 0%, 00 minutes total hold-up time).
• Targets. 5 out of 30 planned targets were completed. Other planned targets failed due to cloud.   Session was aborted early due to expected rain.

• Accessing 'Title 2' details for an image set for Supernova does give appropriate T+Days info for the frame set being analysed. In session S1076 the target NGC 5631 w/SN was observed twice (at 23:42 and again at 06:43).  Although not specifically acquired as a time lapse observation (the second observation is an accidental acqusition due to a ongoing minor bug in AstroPlan's schedule builder)  the two observation were given time lapse frame numbers 001 and 002 during post-session reduction & analysis to allow images to be separately created for the two observations using recently added 'Frame Set' handling. Combined images were created for each frame set ok, but when Title 2 (T+Days) information was accessed for the second set the data for second , the T+Days information (Days since Discovery) was unchanged from that given for the first image set.   'Title 2' data needs to be generated specifically for the Frame Set being analysed. New routine, GetImageSetTargetTime(),  created to get ImageSet's Date Time from the first Fits image in a specified folder.   BuildImageTitle2() routine modified to get current work folder and if it has been created to call GetImageSetTargetTime() and use the result for generating T+Days.
