Session Aims & Highlights (2022-03-24)

Main aims

1. Targets.  Acquire images of a selection of variable stars, nearby stars, comets & deep sky targets as allowed by time & conditions.
2. ARP Objects.  Acquire a number of ARP objects in Leo

• Several targets weren't centered as expected (revealed during post-session analysis). Several targets (all new ARP objects recently added to database, including UGC 6175 (ARP 191), IC 701 (ARP 197) & UGC 5304 (ARP 255) ) weren't positioned in the centre of images but lay some 1.5' off centre, even though centering errors were recorded as being only 0.03' to 0.08'.   Investigating showed that targets were stored on database with Jog N centering offsets of 1.5', when they should have had values of 0'. This occurred as targets were added to database based on copying a previous ARP target which had a Jog N value of 1.5' and this wasn't noticed and manually reset to 0' as part of editing the target record for the new ARP target.  This has now been fixed. Separately the issue was picked up in following S995 session and a Continuous Improvement ticket raised to give a warning/request of confirmation when copying a Target in AstroPlan, in siutuations where Jog Offsets or Proper Motion rates have non-zero values.

Small Defects

• None

• Add a 'Title2' button to Image Sets/Images form. This saves a button click in some situations. Calls same code as 'Title2' button on ImagesSets/Reduced Tab.
