Session Aims & Highlights (2022-05-02)

Main aims

1. Targets.  Acquire images of a selection of variable stars, nearby stars, comets & deep sky targets as allowed by time & conditions.
2. DeviceHub. Check DeviceHub 6.6.0.6 for issues following recent upgrade
      (see Upgrade to DeviceHub 6.6.0.6, 2022-04-28  )

• AstroMain crashing between Saving Combined FITS image and requesting confirmation to Open Store Folder (post-session analysis).  Issue happend twice whilst performing backlog analysis of imagesets from session S950 using an preliminary AstroMain 3.51.3 build.  Debugging the program showed that crash was due to an InvalidOperationException ("Cross-thread operation on form control 'flagStoreFolder' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on") .   This came about from code lines added whilst changing behaviour of Store Folder Flag for a Small Defect ticket item (see below).  Problem fixed and version 3.51.3 rebuilt.

Small Defects

• When changing Store Folder Flag colour on AstroMain's Analysis/ImageSets Tab a red flag is momentarily shown before the flag changes to green.  Fixed in AstroMain 3.51.3 by making the flag initially to be hidden when chnaging Imagset and then only changing the flag setting when txtObjStoreFolder.Text is changed to a non blank string.

• AstroMain's Build Heading' button function outputs 'NGC 2371 - Pl. Neb' instead of NGC 2371 - Planetary Nebula' (Post Session Analysis).  Backlog analysis of NGC 2371 from session S950 isn't outputing the correct heading.  Routine fixed in AstroMain 3.51.3 to interpret 'Pl. Neb' in target's object type as meaning 'Planetary Nebula'.

• Scalebar Shift X/Y not resetting when changing to a new imageset.  Testing showed that it is Scalebar Shift Y which is not being reset (Shift X was being reset ok).  Fixed in AstroMain 3.51.4.

• Target Circle for SS Cyg isn't correctly centered on the actual SS Cy star in JPG pictures.  Closed after review on 2022-05-05.  Issue was prelimarily caused by the failure to locate / centre target in initial 4 locate frames due to cloud.   LocateInfo was consequently compromised.  First Main Frame (B filter) was successfully linked (1.40 arc mins error) but this does't seem to have led to correct information being sent to the 'Create Jpg Picture' tool.
  Closed 2022-05-05 (Session)

• After closing AstroMain's Observatory Form, focus should move back to the Main Form (Development Computer). At present AstroMain program can lose focus when the Observatory Form is closed (using the 'Main Form' button).  This improvement is only applicable for the Development Computer, since the same button is used instead on Observatory Computer for closing the program.
